Five years after the events in the original film, Ralphie, Flick, and Schwartz are now teenagers who are almost old enough to drive, which means only one thing to the almost all-American teenager: Ralphie has his heart set on a beauty of a car (not to mention trying to get a girlfriend as well). Unfortunately, he wrecks it before it even leaves the lot, so he and his friends must find jobs to pay off the damage.
Meanwhile, the Old Man continues fighting his suburban war while Randy plays soldier and Mrs. Parker stands patiently by to clean up the battlefield.
- This film is actually the second sequel to A Christmas Story, the first being a feature film variously titled My Summer Story (titled It Runs in the Family in its theatrical run). However, the two sequels have no connection other than both providing the further adventures of the Parker family. Due to the differing titles and actors, many fans of the original do not realize that My Summer Story is a sequel to the first film.
