Story

SPOILER: Plot details or story follow.

Santa gets advice from Tinsel the Elf on his new sled.

Santa's new chief mechanic, Tinsel the Elf, has created a new rocket-powered sled, however on its inaugural test flight, the evil North Wind (voiced by Brad Adamson) has plans to sabotage Christmas by taking Santa's place, and sends two of his minions to ruin this test flight. The Miser Brothers, Snow Miser (now voiced in this special by Juan Chioran) and Heat Miser, see Santa in trouble and swiftly call a cease fire in the midst of one of their petty feuds. As a result, North Wind says that he blames the Misers for the accident, and with Santa in bed with a backache, is ready to replace St. Nick. However, Mother Nature orders her sons with the help of Mrs. Claus (voiced by Catherine Disher) to fill in for Santa whilst settling their differences. Meanwhile, North Wind has other ideas to blame the Misers on one another by sabotaging their flight on Christmas Eve by placing the opposite sides with a snow machine and a flame thrower, forcing Santa to make his flight, bad back and all. Tinsel then sees the real reason with North Wind's minions leave the evidence: a wrench and screwdriver in the jet sled. North Wind gets thwarted by the Misers and is punished to doing chores from Mother Nature for the next several thousand years and the Misers save Christmas, learning the true meaning of family.
