Cindy Bear is a character from the Hanna-Barbera animated television series The Yogi Bear Show. She is Yogi Bear's Southern-accented love interest who rarely engages in the same antics as him and Boo Boo and does not share the same antagonistic relationship with Ranger Smith. Her romance with Yogi is typically portrayed as on-again/off-again, with her pursuing him while he avoids and evades her advances. Just as often, however, Yogi is shown to return her affections.
Cindy's only appearance in a Christmas special was the 1980 telefilm Yogi's First Christmas. During Yogi's attempt to coach a Christmas caroling session, Boo Boo runs off and wakes Cindy out of her hibernation, requesting her help with the caroling. Cindy initially declines, since she's supposed to be hibernating, but when Boo Boo mentions that Yogi could lose his job because of this, Cindy, due to her love and concern for Yogi, immediately changes her mind and joins the chorus. Afterward, Mr. Dingwell, the manager of the hotel, gives her a job as a waitress. After Boo Boo introduces her to the concept of mistletoe, Cindy repeatedly attempts to get Yogi to kiss her under the mistletoe, but to no avail. Eventually, at the lodge's Christmas party, Yogi (dressed as Santa Claus) crowns her Miss Jellystone and finally gives her the mistletoe kiss she wanted. In response, Cindy then sings that she's going to start using the mistletoe every day. Yogi's First Christmas notably marked the first time Cindy's regular voice actor, Julie Bennett, did not provide her voice; Janet Waldo (best known for voicing Judy Jetson and Penelope Pitstop) instead took the reins for that film.
