Frieda is a character from Charles M. Schulz's newspaper comic strip Peanuts. Introduced in the strip in 1961, she is a young girl who is very proud of her "naturally curly" hair. Unlike most of the other kids, she gets along well with Charlie Brown and Linus van Pelt most of the time. She is also casual friends with Lucy van Pelt, but does not get along well with Schroeder or Snoopy. Frieda appeared frequently in the strip throughout the 1960s, but was eventually dropped as a regular character in 1975, making only cameo appearances since then in the animated specials.

Appearances in Christmas specials

In A Charlie Brown Christmas, Frieda is cast as the innkeeper's wife in the school's Christmas play. As Pig-Pen is given the role of the innkeeper himself, though, she complains about having to work alongside him due to his messy appearance.

Frieda also makes a brief cameo at the beginning of It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown. When Charlie Brown tries to sell her a Christmas wreath, Frieda immediately takes it, thinking that he is giving away a free sample.
