When department store clerk Steve Mason realizes his high-powered customer Connie Ennis is really a commercial spy, he doesn't have the heart to turn her in; instead he goes on a date with her. He loses his job, and Connie's steady boyfriend Carl is upset, but her son Timmy, who dislikes Carl, is thrilled.
