Snip is a character from the 1979 Rankin/Bass television special Jack Frost. Snip, a friendly and slightly sarcastic snowflake maker, is a close friend and confidant to Jack Frost. He is the first person that Jack tells about his wish to become human.
After Father Winter decides to grant Jack's wish, Snip gives Jack a pair of his scissors to remember him by. Jack even uses "Snip" as his last name while he is in January Junction.
Later, Father Winter asks him and Holly to join Jack as humans in January Junction so they can prevent him from getting into harm's way.
As a human, Snip introduces himself to Elisa and her family as "Fernando Leonardi Kratsky Dopopolopolous".
