Snow & Heat Miser Song

From Christmas Specials Wiki

The song "Snow Miser"/"Heat Miser" was originally written by Maury Laws (Music) and Jules Bass (Lyrics) for the 1974 Rankin-Bass stop-motion animated special The Year Without A Santa Claus. In that special, the song was performed by Dick Shawn as the Snow Miser and George S. Irving as his brother Heat Miser. The song was reprised in the 2006 live-action film by Michael McKean as Snow Miser and Harvey Fierstein in the role of Heat Miser, and reprised in the ABC Family 2008 sequel A Miser Brothers' Christmas, and while Irving reprised his role as Heat Miser, Canadian voice actor Juan Chorian played the Snow Miser role as Dick Shawn passed away in 1989.

[edit] Lyrics

[edit] Snow Miser's Version

I'm Mister White Christmas, I'm Mister Snow.

I'm Mister Icicle; I'm Mister Ten below.

Friends call me Snow Miser, whatever I touch,

Turns to snow in my clutch.

I'm too much.

(The lyrics are reprised by his minions)
I never want to know a day that's over forty degress,

I'd rather have a thirty, twenty, ten, five and let it freeze!

(Again, both his minions and Snow Miser reprise the song.)

[edit] Heat Miser's Version

I'm Mister Green Christmas, I'm Mister Sun.

I'm Mister Heat Blister, I'm Mister Hundred and One.

They call me Heat Miser, whatever I touch

Starts to melt in my clutch.

I'm too much.

(The song is reprised by his minions)
I never want to know a day that's under sixty degrees,

I'd rather have it eighty, ninety, one hundred degrees.

(Once again, the minions and Heat Miser reprise the song.)

[edit] Other Media

The song was heard in the 1997 movie Batman and Robin as Mr. Freeze (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) attempts to have his minions sing Snow Miser's version of the song, so they watch the Rankin-Bass 1974 special and listen to Dick Shawn's version.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Barely Pink and the Swamp Zombies have all covered versions of this song.
